5 Signs of Faulty Wiring

You need to guard against fire by ensuring that your wiring is in good order! Old, damaged or poorly installed wiring is dangerous. Here are 5 signs that your wiring may be faulty:
1. Breakers are Tripping
This is a sign that the electrical system cannot handle the current load. While every now and then it is natural for circuit breakers to trip, if they are tripping several times each month or more this is a sign that you need to call an electrician.
2. You Have Dimming, Flickering or Buzzing Lights
This indicates that the circuit has a loose connection or is overloaded. Do not overlook any problems that you have with the lighting in your building.
3. There is a Burning Smell
If there is a burning smell in your building you are in danger of an electrical fire starting. The smell may be coming from power outlets or from your electrical panel. Fire may have even already begun! Contact an electrician for immediate repairs.
4. There is Chewed or Frayed Wiring in Your Restaurant
This is often caused by rodents, or it can be the case of the wiring not having been professionally installed. This is dangerous in any environment but particularly in a commercial and restaurant environment where electrical equipment is used near water and in confined spaces.
5. You Have Received an Electrical Shock
This is very dangerous and signals a fault with your electrical wiring.
